Geek Girl Con 2016

Miss Kitty, her beau, and I went to GeekGirl Con 2016! It was amazing!

Seattle is home to many wonderful events... one that Miss Kitty and I try to go to every year is GeekGirlCon! The event's mission statement explains so well why we strive to participate:

"GeekGirlCon celebrates and honors the legacy of women contributing to science and technology; comics, arts, and literature; and game play and game design by connecting geeky women worldwide and creating community to foster continued growth of women in geek culture through events."

The conference is true to its mission! We feel you'd be hard pressed to find another event so focused on this! You can read more about GeekGirlCon here.

We went to several sessions throughout the 2-day event that enticed us, inspired us, and motivated us. Here are a few of the sessions we went to:
The expression on the pandas face is just the BEST for this topic!

Panelists for "Breaking The Bamboo Ceiling".

"Rolling for Boob Size: Being a Woman in a (Masculine) D&D World"
This was an amazing session that really delved into the past and current states of women in the gaming world, and how women and men can help make it more inclusive. Also, if you are a female DM, Seattle is hurting for more!!

Poor image of the panelists... we weren't in the best location for taking pics of them.
These are the panelists for "The Business of Geek Fashion: Becoming an Entrepreneur". This was my (Reggi's) favorite session as it really hit home and provided amazing tips on how to get started in the geek fashion world. It was quite a lively panel and the discussions were so helpful!

Of course, there's an ENTIRE floor of vendors! We spent a good portion of each day perusing this area and adding to our art collections.
I bought this for my daughter, who happens to be named Jazmin (unique spelling, I know), who was named after the Princess Jasmine in Disney's Aladin, who just so happens to love this particular Disney princess (and Belle, of course)!
