Reggi's Haul | Makeup and Skincare- February, 2017

Every so often, I venture out for new skincare and makeup products to test. This time around, I found quite a few keepers and a couple nopes.

My skin is quite dry, year-round. I also tend to react adversely to a lot of popular cleansers and moisturizers, finding that the chemicals in those are just to harsh for my sensitive skin. Every so often, I find products that actually work well on me. Here are items from a recent haul... these are new products that I purchased to test out. Most were actually hits; usually, it's the other way around!

Keepers:

Hum Lips | Lip gloss

The cutest lipstick tube ever!! Only way it could be better is if it were metal and not plastic....

Extremely moisturizing while giving a light sheen without feeling sticky/tacky.

Yep, that's a flower in the lipstick.... !! Definitely repurchasing this.

Skinfood | Peach Sake Silky Finishing Powder

Ok, first things first.... this stuff smells amazing! It smells like peaches, real peaches, and is subtle (not like the overwhelmingly "peach-flavored candy" smell that new products to recently hit the market smell like).

It's a finely milled finishing powder that doesn't dry me out or make me look patchy (surprisingly). I used to use Laura Mercier's translucent loose powder, but I think I might just keep with this instead. It is so much less expensive than Laura Mercier and I get a very similar result!

AmorePacific | Moisture Bound Skin Energy Mist

I'm always a fan of products that keep my skin hydrated... this definitely does! I spray a bit of this over my face before applying primer. Some days, I just spray this all over my face before I leave the house (with no makeup on); it makes my face feel soft, look bright, and stay "fresh" looking for a few hours. It's a bit on the pricey side ($35), but you definitely get what your paying for. This is on my winter products essentials list now!

Benefit |  Hydra-Smooth Lip Color in Tutti Cutie

Super cute packaging!!!

I love the corally color of this lipstick. My only qualm with it is that it's not as hydrating as it's advertised to be. I still needed to apply a lip balm shortly after applying this lipstick... it's not drying, but it's also not hydrating. I would rebuy this lipstick simply because I enjoy the color and love the packaging. Whipping this cutie out along with my Stratton compact is a beautiful sight!

Nope's:

Sephora | Hand Mask, Aloe Vera

This was my first attempt at using a hand mask... I picked this up because my hands were feeling rather dry due to the oddly cold weather. The experience was fun and novel, but alas, I don't think this did a better job than straight up hand lotion... or, my fall-back of Vaseline or Aquaphor with soft gloves.

Etude House | Beauty Shot Face Blurr

Packaging isn't too impressive, though I love the color combination.

Product goes on well and does a decent job at brightening my face. However, my skin brokeout later in the day and stayed a bit red a few days after using this product. Needless to say, I won't be reusing this one and will likely pass it on to a friend with less sensitive skin. My favorite primer is still Nivea's Post Shave Balm (best product I've found to prime my face).

I hope you enjoyed my reviews. Let me know what you think about these products! Also, if you have any recommendations, please share them with me! I'm always looking to try new products.

Thanks and cheers,
Reggi
